First win of Season

Posted on 22nd August 2017

In the end a thoroughly deserved first win of the season and a welcome three points to go along with it.

Pleasing on the eye and dominating in our first three games of the season, the results of our endeavours was a solitary point up at Bedlington.

For the first 45 minutes yesterday evening against Crook Town, lets be brutally honest, was awful - but we were one nil up. No matter, lets win awful, but lets win.

Thankfully the game improved ten fold in the second half. I think it was a combination of Crook taking the game to us a bit more and 'the lads' just settling into the game more. As we progressed there was a bit more of a swagger from us and started playing some really 'nice' attacking football... I think this feeling was helped by us realising that Crook weren't really worrying us that much and the confidence from the back fed up the field...

Goals in the first half from Anthony Phillipson and one in the second half from Kieran Duffy-Weekes gave us - in the end - a rather comfortable 2-0 win.
