Brandon United made the trip to central Newcastle to take on Heaton Stannington. In all our previous visits there we had come away empty handed.
There were chances galore for both teams in a very open game.
Vinny Gash opened the scoring for Brandon but less than two minutes later Heaton had equalised with a forty yard thunderbolt.
Jason White then had his penatly kick brilliantly saved by the 'Stan' 'keeper and we went into the interval all sqaure.
The second half continued in much the same vein with Heaton slightly the better team and creating the better chances. They duly took the lead following a defensive mix-up.
However, we didn't let our heads drop - well not too much anyway... and we steadied the ship.
We had some glorious chances to score before Vinny eventually did in the 89th minute. Even after this we had a couple of more chances to snatch the win but we just couldn't convert our chances.
All in all, tremendous entertainment, a 'rare' double rainbow overhead and an even rarer away point at Heaton Stannington.
