Managers notes ahead of Easington game...

Posted on 6th October 2017

We are finally starting to get a settled squad together after what was a frustrating opening period and start to the season. Results and performances are starting to come and we are starting to find some consistency.

Following the 3-1 win over West Allotment we moved on to a good Heaton Stannington side where we once again put in another solid performance and came away with the clubs first ever point at Heaton.  I think the result was a fair result in the end and thought we could have nicked in the final couple of minutes.

I feel we now have the firepower to cause any team in the division problems with the front pairing of Vinny Gash and Jack Pounder on fifteen goals between them.  I also gave a debut to another promising forward Aaron ‘Azza’ Jackson who came on and played his part in the second goal.

This week we host Easington and three points against another team around us would catapult us up towards half way up the league and heading in the right direction, like I’ve said all season I am confident when we are settled with everyone back we are good enough to compete in the top 10 of this division.

Team news we have Niall Fingleton and Dan Pearson away and Tom Goundry injured.  We welcome back Luke Thompson and Zak Renwick from injury with Reece Marshal and Michael Searby back from suspension.

Enjoy the Game – Lee
